Great piece and it’s nice to see our neighbouring region highlighted. Love Ascoli and also Loreto. (We are in Abruzzo) just spent a lovely few days in Ancona. Amazing city and we spent many hours watching the ferries come in and out! Sipping a Negroni, of course!
Love this post-- great to see Marche highlighted. About 20 years ago, we restored a home in Monteleone di Fermo, so we know Montegiorgio very well! Recanati is a spot we still need to get to-- this was a good reminder!
This post was so spot on Antonio. My husband and I spent 7 days in the area you described in the Fall of 1922 only our tour was south of Bari. However our bus took us along the coast from Ancona to Pescara where we stopped for lunch and then on to Bari. I will be in Italy again this October, solo, looking at property in the very locations you mentioned. Thanks for the location markers! Peggy Joyce - Albany, Oregon
What a post! I absolutely love it and also loved Marche. It is super underrated! I was blown by Fermo and Recanati. I also loved my time in Urbino and many other small towns such as Urbania and Mercatello sul Metauro. A part of me never wishes Marche to lose its charm. (Yet to see south of Marche!)
