A New Name, A Sharper Focus
After some deliberation, I’m renaming this Substack from Italian with Antonio to Italy with Antonio.
The reasoning is simple. Linguetto is now the place where I teach Italian. This newsletter is where I share everything else I know about the country: its culture, its regions, its quiet contradictions. Over the past month I put consistent effort into the publication, and the response has been clear. You want more about Italy itself. Happy to oblige.
You can expect three posts a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. With this announcement, you get four this week.
The new name reflects what this publication has actually become: a column about Italian life, culture, and the practical realities of the country from a native perspective. Regional guides. Cost of living. Bureaucracy translated into plain English. What to eat, where to go, what to know before you travel or move there.
Everything else stays the same. The archive, your subscription, the writing.
If you came here primarily for the language side, you’ll still find Italian sprinkled throughout but Linguetto is where it’s at. Paid subscribers to this newsletter will get the upcoming Linguetto premium tier included as a bonus.
Thank you for reading. Tomorrow you’ll get a piece about a TV scandal that explains a small but telling aspect of how Italy works.
A presto,
Antonio
