What a great post! I’m a daily hat wearer, but I’ve never had one fitted like that. We’ll have to take a trip to Marche next time we’re in Italy.

I have loved hats since childhood. From my first Fairisle beret onwards. When BA, loved wearing the hats (although the Freddie Fox I called a melon carrier. It was weird) and of course white gloves in summer, navy in winter.

I love the interesting post. What a creative family!

I don't have the full social life I had in UK and as an ex pat.

Now in S Africa, hats are a must - I have 2 lovely brimmed one bamboo, the other paper! Both look like straw. My winter ones a black John Lewis lambswool, a donated. Early Tudor brown suede with.a velvet band in front and an Afghan light brown woollen hat with a roll base and a neat 'bakers' brim. They can all cover the ears!

I love reading the posts I get on Cheltenham, Ascot, to see the headgear!!

Thank you for the post.

Ah, memories!

I’m not much of a hat wearer, but this is now on my list of places to visit. Also planning to make it to the Marche in the fall- would love to join a tour.

Thanks for this window into another of Italy’s many artisanal treasures!

Grazie!

Thank you for the feedback, Larissa. It’s a new series and I wasn’t sure how it would land.

Loved the video clip of the actual "making of a hat"....but I couldn't find the town on my map and would love to visit when I'm in Puglia this October.
